On 28 July 2026, Hiya Mansurah Sdn Bhd (HM) had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from MBSB Bank Berhad for a meaningful occasion comprising the Mock Cheque Presentation and the official handover of HM’s completed Shariah applied research report, titled “Cadangan Model Pelaksanaan Wakaf Mushtarak: Integrasi Wakaf Zurri Sementara dan Wakaf Khairi Berkekalan.” The research explores the proposed integration of Waqf Muaqqat (temporary endowment) within a Waqf Mushtarak (joint/combined endowment) framework, with the aim of supporting the development and application of innovative waqf structures in Malaysia.
A RM25,000 Grant to Support Shariah Research
The key highlight of the event was the presentation of a RM25,000 grant from MBSB Bank Berhad to Hiya Mansurah Sdn Bhd. The mock cheque was presented by Mr. Azmi Abd Rahim, Head of Community Affairs, MBSB Bank Berhad, to Puan Mazni Azemi, Managing Director of Hiya Mansurah Sdn Bhd. The financial support reflects MBSB Bank Berhad’s commitment towards supporting meaningful Shariah research, particularly initiatives related to Islamic social finance and waqf development.
The ceremony was also attended by Ms. Siti Syafira Zainal Abiddin, Manager of Community Affairs, and Mr. Mohammad Saufi Husain, Manager of the Group Communications & Marketing Department, representing MBSB Bank Berhad.
Sharing Session of the Research Findings
The event continued with a Shariah Research Presentation delivered by Puan Apnizan Abdullah, Lead Shariah Advisor for the research project. She presented an overview of the research findings and the proposed framework for the implementation of Waqf Mushtarak in Malaysia. The study aims to encourage broader participation among waqifs (donors or endowers) while exploring ways to develop sustainable and practical Shariah-based waqf initiatives. In particular, the research highlights the potential application of Waqf Muaqqat within the Waqf Mushtarak structure, contributing towards the advancement of Waqf Zurri (family waqf) in Malaysia.
